Hammer Collective

———

We used to float around up there
You say, waving your cigarette at the sunlight
And how we scattered to the winds
diverging over the empty field

Lysed from our perfect cells
Ovulated into the future
Born premature, but who isn’t these days
What with the CO2 and the 5G and all

It almost could hold all of us in
our art, homework, love and squabbles
Every king and queen and all that other stuff,
mostly going on about their business
outside our walls

But in the end it just wasn’t big enough
I’ve always thought the fear
of being your own biggest threat
is a self fulfilling prophecy
