I experienced it for a few fleeting moments one time
Like the momentum quickly leaving a cola can skittering down the road, thrown out the car window at high speed.
We had been discussing it just days before, you and I, and which one of Maxwell’s Equations must describe it better.
“I think after meeting some baseline conditions- food, shelter, water, friendship”, you began, “happiness can exist independent of tragedy.”
To you, happiness is like an electric field, you can draw a circle around it and all the lines point out of the circle.
“Sure, those things are necessary, but I have a hard time understanding things without their opposites,” I explain- the magnetic field model of happiness. Northerly magnetic charges do not exist independent of their southerly counterparts.
In all this though, I guess it slipped my mind
About all the moms that lose their sons too early
And how a little bread, water, and a roof over their heads
Should leave them brimming with glee
